Rogue Opera Outreach

We’re passionate about bringing opera to local communities and educational workshops to school students. To achieve this, we are building a fund to offer subsidised and concession tickets for our performances in local theatres. We appreciate any contributions you can make to support our outreach projects.

We are hoping to continue our outreach projects online before we can return to live performances in our community.

Schools Workshops

In May 2019, we were delighted to be able offer subsidised in-school workshops and free attendance at a special matinee performance of our production of Don Giovanni.

85 school children from local schools participated in a 90 minute workshop, using applied theatre games and music to bring the storytelling of opera alive. Students were also given an insight into the concepts and production process of Don Giovanni.

Outreach Sponsors

Our 2019 schools outreach project was made possible thanks in part to support from a Wandsworth Council Arts Grant and sponsorship by local businesses: Inside Copy, Haughey Electrics, Catherine Simmonds Wealth Mangement, Starc Architects, Robbies Photographics and Clean-Letts Handyman Service.

We very much appreciate the generosity of our sponsors, which has enabled a young new audience to experience the beauty of Mozart's work.

Free Community Performances

On 16 February 2019, we held a free Community Performance of Carmen at St Mary & St John the Divine in Balham.

We were delighted to present Balham’s first full length opera to an appreciative audience of over 130 people including local children and a number of people who had their first experience of opera!
