Passionate about bringing opera to new spaces and audiences, Rogue Opera creates intimate full-length productions and bespoke events which can be staged almost anywhere. Through our focus on strong acting and staging, we aim to present the composers' incredible music – and the performers' incredible voices – in ways which appeal to both first time audiences and connoisseurs.
Our productions are sung in the original language, with English surtitles and piano or instrumental accompaniment, for 50-300 people. With the audience close enough to see blood, sweat and tears and to feel the vibration in every note, a Rogue Opera performance is live theatre at its most personal.
As well as presenting shows in traditional theatre spaces in London, St Albans, Bournemouth and Deal, we have also transformed a 15th century barn in Kent into a theatre for 90 people and brought a special show to a North London synagogue. Pop up performances in parks, retail centres and on the High Street bring opera into everyday experience. We also create high-end conference opener performances and fun and engaging team-building workshops.
