Carmen - casting for: José; Escamillo/Dancaire; Moralès /Remendado

Rogue Opera has designed a chamber version of Bizet's Carmen for six singers, dancer and piano, fully staged, in French, with portable set and lighting to allow us to tour and do one-off shows in unusual venues. We premiered in May 2018 and are now looking for a one tenor and two baritones to complete our double cast for confirmed shows and new bookings in 2019.

We incorporate some of the original spoken dialogue (and no sung dialogue) so confidence in spoken French is a must. All positions (except Carmen and José) are multi-character roles, so strong acting skills and a versatile voice are required. Movement and dancing are also an integral part of the production.
