In Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, the Countess is painfully aware of her huband's straying eyes.  When Figaro and Susanna reveal his intention to claim the archaic Lord's rights to the bride on the first night of their marriage, the Countess agrees to help entrap and expose him, by dictating a poem suggesting an illicit meeting with the Count and Susanna under the pines in the little grove.
