ARTIST & CREW HANDBOOK
ROGUE OPERA LLP
This handbook outlines the professional standards and working practices expected of artists, musicians, stage crew and other subcontractors engaged by Rogue Opera LLP.
It complements the Subcontractor Agreement and supports safe, respectful and collaborative working environments across rehearsals, performances and touring engagements.
1. Company Values
Rogue Opera aims to create artistic environments that are:

All artists and crew contribute to maintaining these standards.
2. Code of Conduct
All contractors are expected to:
- Deliver work to a high professional standard.
• Arrive prepared and punctually for rehearsals and performances.
• Respect rehearsal schedules and technical requirements.
• Communicate clearly about availability or concerns.
• Represent Rogue Opera positively in professional settings.
Touring environments require flexibility, mutual respect and teamwork.
3. Equality, Dignity and Respect
Rogue Opera is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Everyone engaged by the Company must treat colleagues, participants, venue staff and audiences with dignity and respect. Discrimination or exclusionary behaviour will not be tolerated.
4. Anti‑Bullying and Anti‑Harassment
Bullying or harassment includes:
- Intimidation or aggressive behaviour
• Derogatory comments
• Sexual harassment
• Public humiliation
• Persistent belittling criticism
• Online harassment related to work
Such conduct may result in termination of engagement.
5. Touring Conduct
Touring work may include travel, shared transport, festival environments and unconventional venues. Professional behaviour is required at all times including:
- Respecting personal boundaries and privacy
• Maintaining responsible alcohol consumption
• Representing the Company appropriately in public settings
6. Health & Wellbeing While Touring
Touring work can be demanding. Rogue Opera encourages:
- Adequate rest and recovery
• Vocal warm‑ups and cooldowns
• Hydration and physical care
• Open communication regarding health concerns
Schedules will aim to allow reasonable breaks where possible.
7. Health & Safety
All contractors must:
- Follow risk assessments and safety instructions
• Report hazards or accidents promptly
• Use equipment responsibly
• Follow venue emergency procedures
Risk assessments will consider touring environments, manual handling and audience proximity.
8. Safeguarding
When working with children or vulnerable adults:
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
• Follow safeguarding procedures
• Report any concerns immediately to the designated safeguarding lead
• Avoid being alone with children unless formally authorised
9. Social Media & Public Representation
Artists and crew should use social media responsibly when referencing Rogue Opera productions. Confidential information must not be shared.
10. Reporting Concerns
Concerns relating to wellbeing, harassment, safety or safeguarding should be raised with a Director or the production lead. All concerns will be handled sensitively and appropriately.
