Having spent Christmas 2019 in her home country, Australia, Bronwen Stephens-Harding, singer and director of Rogue Opera, was only too aware of the devastation the bushfires were causing across the country.
Back in her English home in Balham, Bronwen wanted to make some small contribution to assist those who had suffered such terrible losses dues to the fires. Gathering together a group of ex-expatriate Australian musicians, she arranged a gala concert and associated auction to raise funds.
There was no charge for the concert but, due to the generosity of the audience on the night and local event sponsors who supported the silent auction, £4285.60 was raised.
