SAVING VIOLETTA

All great operatic love stories end in tragedy, but ….. do they have to? Join Rogue Opera on a quest for a different ending.

In this new original production created for Fuller’s Opera in Garden, we find our heroine, La traviata’s Violetta, on her deathbed, dying of consumption and a broken heart – but could she change her fate and the fate of so many operatic heroines? The unexpected appearance before her final curtain of a trio of meddlers gives her a second chance and takes her on a journey through time and opera’s best-loved music. She meets a colourful array of characters from opera’s most iconic moments, as the ensemble seeks to persuade her that she doesn’t have to die to have truly loved and lived!

Can they convince her to change her fate or is she doomed never to escape the operatic curse?

Join us for a spectacular showcase of opera’s most loved music from La traviataLa bohèmeCarmenThe Barber of SevilleDon Giovanni and more. Enjoy another fantastic evening of entertainment in the pub garden, with an original script in English linking amazing opera sung in the original languages.
