Don Giovanni

About the production

Rogue Opera’s new production of Don Giovanni will premiere at the Wandsworth Arts Fringe in May 2019 and tour to Teddington and Kent (June) and St Albans (October).

The production will be for 8 singers and piano, sung in Italian, with a combination of sung recitative and spoken Italian dialogue. We have a strong focus on movement and acting and all singers apart from Don Giovanni and Leporello will be used as chorus/background characters in various scenes.

The production will be double-cast and each singer will be guaranteed at least 6 shows initially. After the May premiere, Don Giovanni will go into our repertoire of shows for one-off corporate, private and fundraising event bookings for 2019 and beyond.

Director: Bronwen Stephens-Harding
Music Director: Guy Murgatroyd
Movement Director: Michelle Buckley
Italian coaching will be provided by Matteo Dalle Fratte in two group coaching sessions (www.melofonetica.com)

Fees

Fees for the initial run will be a minimum of £100 per performance for a major character role (Don G, Leporello, Donna Anna, Donna Elvira, Don Ottavio) and £80 per show for the minor character roles (Zerlina, Masetto, Commendatore).

We are actively seeking funding and private sponsorship, so these show fees will be increased if possible and any future one-off corporate, private and fundraising event bookings will be paid in line with the Musicians Union single performance fee rate.

A one-off rehearsal contribution of £100 will be paid and all performance-related travel expenses outside of London will be covered. Unfortunately we cannot pay travel expenses for rehearsals. Meals will be provided at day rehearsals and out of London performances and each singer will receive a free subscription of 9 downloads from www.musiclibrarysource.com.
