Rogue Opera curates special performances and develops school workshops to introduce children and young people to the magical, mind-expanding world of opera.
Working with Concertini, we have performed several very successful concerts for young children and school groups.
The music pieces are introduced in an age appropriate way and paired with activities to engage the young audience with the music and meaning of the songs.
Rogue Opera's school workshops introduce older students to the music and key concepts of opera. This is particularly successful in conjunction with students seeing a full opera production.
In May 2019, we were delighted to be able offer subsidised in-school workshops and free attendance at a special matinee performance of our production of Don Giovanni.
85 school children from local schools participated in a 90 minute workshop, using applied theatre games and music to bring the storytelling of opera alive. Students were also given an insight into the concepts and production process of Don Giovanni.
