Opera in the Meadow - Saturday 10th July
Join Rogue Opera's performers for a musical journey through Love, Loss and Hope with a delightful evening of performance as you picnic in the Meadow in a perfect summer evening event for families, opera connoisseurs and first-timers alike.
With a selection of our favourite arias and duets from from opera’s big hits and hidden gems and spoken introductions to the characters and stories of each piece, Alexandra Cowell (Soprano), Bronwen Stephens-Harding (Mezzo-Soprano) and Guy Murgatroyd (Piano) will weave a magic evening against the backdrop of the stunning wood and glass pavilion set in the nature reserve's meadows.
With gates opening at 5pm, bring your picnic blanket, chairs and favourite food and drink, or take advantage of the cash bar (all profits will support Woking and Sam Beare Hospice).
Rogue Opera and Clandon Wood are presenting this event as part of Guildford Fringe Festival
The event is outside (no cancellations except for extreme weather warnings) so please dress appropriately. There is also limited cover inside the glass pavilion.
You are welcome to arrive from 5pm to set up your picnic. A cash bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available.

I have been into a lot of different music in my 44 years of life. I have been to see Metallica to Lisa Loeb, hard house to folk festivals and Jazz clubs to rap shows. Since listening and watching online over the past two or three months I have become more educated about opera and more of a fan of opera in general.
These online performances are engaging and create a magical atmosphere! Bronwen's relaxed and amiable interaction with her audience explaining the story behind each musical piece only served to make each experience even more special.
I was transported to another world!
The energy, skill and professionalism of the team really shone. A wonderful and unique experience that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!
Absolutely mind-blowing. The quality of the performance was really impressive, and as Bronwen introduced each aria with a short explanation, it was easy to understand for my boys and me. I highly recommend Rogue Opera and Bronwen - she brought the magic of opera into our home!
A wonderful opera company finding fantastic ways to bring opera to a wider audience!
